There are times you want to head out and let someone else do the cooking. Take it from us, in 10 years we have tried them all. From Texas Land and Cattle at the Landing to Papa John's, Handan and I are experts
in eating out. The best part is there are a couple of restaurants right here on Indian Point and in Branson West you have probably never heard of that are spectacular and their prices are astonishingly affordable. ALL of these recommendations are strictly ours in the hopes you will find the perfect meal while on vacation. None of the restaurants we are recommending have any idea we are doing this and the opinions are 100% unbiased.
One of the best kept secrets in Branson is the Campfire Grill of Indian Point. Literally located 100 yards to the north of our resort is a remarkable restaurant with incredible food. Take a look at the picture I took of my breakfast on the 1st of May, 2013. I simply wanted an omelette with biscuits and gravy and they brought out this monster! With everything from pizza to buffalo burgers to shrimp alfredo, you simply cannot find a better or more affordable restaurant in Branson. (And no, I didn't eat it all. For the first time in my life I had to get a To Go box for a breakfast.)
Another hidden gem is the Floating Cafe at Indian Point Marina. How great is it? Literally 10 minutes before my posting of this review we went to eat there again! If you love calamari you will find none better. Their chicken quesadillas are the best in Branson. The country fried steak is almost too good (very dangerous for those of us on a waistline watch) and their Philly cheesesteak is better than the ones they make in Philadelphia. (Yes, we have eaten PCS in Philadelphia
)
The traditional family favorite of pizza is well represented here on Indian Point as well in Branson West and Reeds Spring. Literally, we will not bother eating in Branson when our choice is pizza because the best pizzas are ALL out here – no joke. In no particular order we would like to tell you of 5 can't miss places that all feature superb pizza.
- Campfire Grill – Indian Point – 417 338 3366 (Yes, it is the same place I raved about for breakfast)
- The Lakehouse – Indian Point – 417 338 1117 (Great live entertainment on the weekends too)
- Altenhof Inn – Indian Point – 417 338 5091 (Probably one of the best lakeviews in all of Southwest Missouri)
- Pizza By The Chef – Branson West – 417 272 8287 (They also have a 11-2 p.m. lunch buffet that is simply outstanding)
- Reeds Spring Pizza Company – 417 272 3507 (How good? They were only selected by USA Today as the Best Pizza in Missouri)
And finally, my wife's personal favorite – Tequilas. All things being equal, if she is making the choice, Tequila's wins out most of the time. Their massive menu of selection is the best we have seen. If you want anything Mexican – they have it. A "little" spendy, it is not the cheapest of places (average $15/person) but they overcompensate by making incredible food. My personal favorite? The California Burrito – delicious – big – and reasonably affordable (<$10)
