Many guests to our resort don’t realize that simply staying with us, they are already saving money. At the top of the hill, guests can either turn to the right and head over to Branson proper – which is in Taney county and drop 13% on sales tax for everything they buy or they can turn left and head over to Branson West which has a nice 8% tax. Hunter’s Friend is in Stone County so you get the discounted rate as well. GAS – If you want to go as the locals go, head out to Branson West. The most affordable gas you will find in the area is in Branson West at either the 13/76 interchange or at the Wal Mart (Murphy’s) gas station. Typically gas at either of these places is .15 to .20 a gallon cheaper than in the city of Branson. If you are feeling real thrifty, the BEST price you will find on gas in the entire southwest region will be in the city of Ozark which is just south of Springfield. Gas is always cheapest in Ozark either at the Casey’s or Wal – Mart. Our guests that are bringing boats and jetskis would be wise to fill up in Ozark if they want to minimize their fuel costs.
