GAS – If you want to go as the locals go, head out to Branson West. The most affordable gas you will find in the area is in Branson West at either the 13/76 interchange or at the Wal Mart (Murphy's) gas station. Typically gas at either of these places is .15 to .20 a gallon cheaper than in the city of Branson. If you are feeling real thrifty, the BEST price you will find on gas in the entire southwest region will be in the city of Ozark which is just south of Springfield. Gas is always cheapest in Ozark either at the Casey's or Wal – Mart. Our guests that are bringing boats and jetskis would be wise to fill up in Ozark if they want to minimize their fuel costs.
Branson West, Reeds Spring, and Kimberling City have GREAT grocery stores available to you once you arrive. Just north of the junction of Highway 13 and 76 is the Wal-Mart Supercenter – open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Whatever you need, whenever you need it. (Did we mention they have great prices on fuel )
At the same interchange is the employee owned Country Mart. A smaller market with a nice selection and a PHENOMENAL deli (my personal favorite). Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. 7 days a week.
If you really want to impress your friends, take them on down to Kimberling City to the Harter House grocery store. Harter House features many standard store items but where they shine is in their meat department. Lobster, crab, filet mignon, duck, goose, scallops and much much more. The prices are great as well and will leave you wondering why you were eating out for $60 a couple when you could have grilled a couple of filet mignons for $20!
In the 10 years or so since we have owned the resort I would guess we have had roughly 30 or more customers break down with their vehicles. Everything from a flat tire to a full blown loss of a master cylinder on their brakes. Our next local tidbit is one of my favorites – Auto Go in Branson West. When we moved here, they were recommended to us exclusively and we have sent countless customers their way ever since. In every instance their work has been 2nd to none, they never gouge a customer and they bend over backwards to help. While we hope you never need repair service while on vacation it is nice to know you have an honest and very competent friend in Auto Go.
Just as it's comforting to have Auto Go for your vehicles – it's equally comforting to have Mc Allister Marine available either onsite or at their shop to work on your boat or jet ski. If you need an endorsement look no further than the owner himself of Indian Point Marina – Brett Stump.
